Siwela Sonke Dance Theatre

Crossing Over to a New Place Altogether

Under the innovative directorship of Jay Pather, Siwela Sonke Dance Theatre aims to produce visually compelling theatre performances of high quality.

The company has developed a dance theatre language that draws from the rich varieity of indigenous and contemporary dance styles of South Africa, such as the indhlamu (traditional Zulu dance) gumboot, isicathamiya, bharatha natyam, ballet, contemporary European and contemporary African dance.
